SUMMER 2021
Practical courses
1
Movement in alpine terrain
In excursion 1 we deal with walking and safe climbing in alpine terrain. The selected route enables us to actively try out the appropriate movement sequences in the terrain. On the way, in suitable places, considerations on the economy of walking and the underlying physiological mechanisms in the body are explained. Aspects of safe climbing in the field with practical exercises conclude this main topic. In addition, the participants learn how the choice of hiking trails and signposts enable them to be safe and adapt to their physical well-being and increase the likelihood of reaching their destination.
Map and information along the way serve as illustrative material.
Practical course 2
Orientation in the mountains
If you don't want to cheat others, you have to know where you want to go and where your path is.
Orientation in the mountains is important not only because it opens up new paths and enables individual experience, but also because it increases safety.
Excursion 2 - During the excursion theoretical and methodological approaches for orientation in the mountains are presented
explained. At the exercise stations, the participants can actively try out the content using exercise examples. Aids (mobile phones, compass, etc.) that the participants have voluntarily brought with them can be actively used and gain practical experience with them. The route does not run exclusively on marked paths and is intended to provide a realistic exercise scenario for orientation at the stations. The use of different maps and the use of electronic map material and tools for orientation are explained. In addition, the participants are made aware of simple but effective training options for preparing higher mountain goals. The last stops of this excursion will deal with the questions of clothing, equipment and weather conditions on tour.
